Hello Suffolk Nordic Walkers!

by | Aug 7, 2020 | Community, Local Events, Sport

Phew …what weather we’re having, almost too hot to walk!

The temperature was perfect for our second Gosbeck Wood walk last Monday with glorious blue skies and a light breeze. The group is really starting to pick up speed now as techniques improve and we covered several kilometres at around 11 mins/km…..
pretty good going.
Monday’s walk (10th August) will start with Broom Hill, past Retreat East, then up to Bulls Road as far as Hemingstone church. We’ll then cross Rectory and Lower Roads by Bridge cottages; walk up to Cooper Road then straight across and down to School Lane. (Approx 7 kms/4.3 Miles.)

As usual, we will leave from the Coddenham Centre at 10am and the walk takes around 90 minutes but please allow a little extra to warm-up/down. Everyone walks at their own pace without any pressure to ‘keep up’ and we make sure no one is left behind. If you did the Centre’s training course this year and haven’t yet joined these enjoyable (and fun) mornings, give it a try!

New poles are available for hire for a small donation  (£5; proceeds to The Coddenham Centre) for anyone who can already Nordic Walk and would like to join us, but doesn’t own their own poles. Any charges billed monthly direct, so there is no need to bring cash.

Although this is a free and voluntary group we do need to restrict numbers at the moment to abide by government COVID-19 guidelines, so please book your place by contacting Gail at enquiries@thecoddenhamcentre.co.uk and abide by all social distancing advice.

Have a good weekend and happy walking.
