WORKOUT WALK MONDAY 19th OCTOBER @9.30 am

A longer faster-paced walk, exclusively for those who have learned the full “INWA Ten Step Method” and wish to go for a real cardio-vascular workout

Starting from Otley Village Hall Car park,
6 Chapel Road
Otley IP6 9NT

For our inaugural Workout Walk, we shall be following a lovely 5.5 mile (9kms) walk around Otley, taking in peeks through the hedge of Otley Hall, the gorgeous Grade 1 listed, 16th century moated hall.

Its onetime owner Bartholomew Gosnold, a 16th century lawyer, explorer and privateer, led the first recorded European expedition to Cape Cod long before the Mayflower deposited its cargo of Puritans there on November 21st 1620.

From there we walk through wide green lanes, across the road past the White Hart pub and then follow several field edge paths until we reach Gull Farm.
According to “The Suffolk dialect of the 20th century” by AOD Claxton, a Gull is a “deep channel made by a stream”. We come to this “Gull” , which suddenly appears as if from nowhere beyond the farm, and it is indeed surprisingly deep. We cross two bridges over it and then return to Otley and the village Hall car park past St Mary’s church. More about the church here
