TCC Picnic Area 6

Hello Nordic Walkers,

We can’t always be lucky with the weather!

Undeterred by the light rain last Monday, we donned our jackets and had a most enjoyable walk. We were treated to the sight of deer in the large field just before Skeet’s Green and by the time we got to Broom Hill the sun was shining again.

We shall be returning to Gosbeck Wood next Monday (August 3rd) by popular demand, but this time walking reversing our previous route.

Up The Drift to Dial farm then across the top of Coddenham Wood, down the steps and across Spring Lane, then up the other side to cross Stone Street into Gosbeck Wood; returning home via Cooper Road  (approx 4.75 Miles/7.6 Kms).

We will leave from the Coddenham Centre at 10am and the walk takes around 90 minutes, but please allow a little extra to warm-up/down. These walks are every week at their own pace without any pressure to ‘keep up’ and we make sure no one is left behind!

New poles are available for hire for a small donation  (£5; proceeds to The Coddenham Centre) for anyone who can already Nordic Walk and would like to join us, but doesn’t own their own poles. Any charges billed monthly direct, so there is no need to bring cash.

Although this is a free and voluntary group we do need to restrict numbers at the moment to abide by government COVID-19 guidelines, so please book your place by contacting Gail at enquiries@thecoddenhamcentre.co.uk and abide by all social distancing and the government’s current advice.

If we have sufficient numbers we may split into two groups and stagger our starting times.Happy Walking!
*Nordic Walking can gently exercise 90% of your body and is accessible to all age groups and ability. Our free walks take place every Monday. watch these pages for new Nordic Walking training tasters and training, coming in September.
